Hybrid Course
This hybrid course will focus on developing and improving knowledge and skills for pediatric physical therapy faculty members and course instructors. A variety of learning strategies will be used to guide participants in creating and/or revising course syllabi, learning objectives, lesson plans, teaching strategies, and assessment activities. Attendees will also improve their understanding of the role of a faculty member in a Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, and their ability to develop and implement an effective scholarly agenda.
Overarching Workshop Objectives
After participating in this workshop, attendees will be able to:
Describe how their course content and the Pediatric Domains of Competence and Associated Competencies fit within the overall curricular design of their Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program
Discuss the uses of the Pediatric Domains of Competence and Associated Competencies for entry level education and how they guide course specific curricular decisions
Develop a plan for enhanced teaching and learning strategies relevant to their course structure, regarding syllabus development, lesson plans (including lab sessions and active learning), assessment strategies, integration of clinical reasoning, and experiential learning opportunities
Identify and utilize teaching and learning resources provided through the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy (APPT) and other repositories for professional development
Integrate evidence-based practice into teaching and learning
Organize effective lab sessions, active learning, and experiential learning opportunities
Develop or advance a publishable scholarly agenda

Credits
Individuals who complete all course asynchronous work and attend the in-person session will receive 17 CEUs
